Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar is a distinguished professional in Sociology, currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Government First Grade College, Kanakapura, Karnataka, a position Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar has held since October 31, 2007. Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar also served as a Board of Studies member for the State Education Policy (SEP) Syllabus for Semester One and Two: B.A. Sociology at St. Joseph's University, Bengaluru from 2018 to present. Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar completed her doctoral studies as a Doctor of Philosophy (Faculty of Sociology) at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) in 2025.
Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar's extensive research focuses on critical social issues, including child marriage and its effects on societal well-being, individual health and personality development, and women's empowerment. Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar also investigates the challenges child marriage poses to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) related to girls' education. Additionally, Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar's work explores the impact of the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) on girls' education, gender and sex identity issues, and the empowerment of women, including transgender individuals.

Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar's academic journey includes an M.Phil. in Sociology with Distinction from Bharathidasan University (2008) and an M.A. in Sociology from Bangalore University (2004), where Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar achieved 1st Rank and three Gold Medals in Post Graduation. Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar also qualified for the National Eligibility Test (2006) and State Eligibility Test (2006) in Sociology.
Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar has been recognized for her contributions, including a "Valuable Review & Certificate of Appreciation" from the Journal of Scholastic Engineering Science and Management (2025) , and has chaired a technical session at the "Land To Cloud-Digital Pathways for Sustainable Rural Empowerment" Two Day Multidisciplinary International Conference (2025). Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar has presented numerous papers at conferences, covering topics such as "Gender and Sex: Identity Issues- With Special Reference to Child Marriage" (2023) , "Impact of COVID-19 on Child Marriage" (2022) , "Socio-Legal Study Of Child Labour" (2021) , "Gender Violence- With Special Reference to Child Marriage" (2021) , and "Health Issues of Transgender- A Sociological Study" (2021). Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar is also an Associate Editor for Zhongguo kongjian kexue jishu/Chinese Space Science and Technology (2025-present) and an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Scholastic Engineering Science and Management (2025-present). Furthermore, Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar serves as a Reviewer of articles for Humanity and Society Journal for SAGE Publishing (United States) (2024-present). Dr. Akshatha Paranjyothi Kumar was awarded Shikshaka Ratna by the Lions Club in 2008.
